EIS has produced a presenter file specification in collaboration with its sister company GDB Gesellschaft für Datensicherheit und IT-Beratung (GDB). It is suitable for use throughout the banking sector. Proper compliance with its provisions ensures that EIS obtains the information required for the appropriate and timely payment of compensation.
Art. 14 (2) EinSiG obliges credit institutions to submit the documents required to examine depositors' compensation claims on request without undue delay. The specification contains the necessary stipulations and thus provides the banks with instructions concerning the type and quality of the required information.
The reporting file specification was produced to support the risk management activities of the individual deposit guarantee schemes. It specifies the aggregated information that is to be extracted from the presenter file and reported electronically to the deposit guarantee schemes by the credit institutions. At the same time it enables the credit institutions to fulfil their statutory reporting obligations to the compensation scheme.
The provisions of both specifications are continuously revised to reflect the changing statutory framework.
